Autumnal Equinox Prayer and Chanting with Juliet Rabia
Juliet Rabia, MA, is a historian of women’s history, TV writer, Sufi adept and performance artist.
She is a spiritual representative of Shaykha Fariha Fatima of the Nur Ashki Jerrahi Sufi Community. Juliet served as a spiritual minister of Faith House Manhattan, an interfaith center in Manhattan and has led Sufi prayer ceremonies throughout New York at venues including: the U.N. General Assembly, Riverside Church, Barnard College, Cathedral St. John the Divine, New York Open Center, Omega Institute, The Abode, Union Theological, Auburn Seminary and One Spirit Learning Alliance. She teaches Sufi whirling (Sema) and drumming both privately and in groups in NYC.
She is also a vocalist and percussionist in several ensembles including Persian Music Ensemble, American Sufi Project, Brooklyn Raga Massive, New York Arabic Orchestra, I Guillari di Piazza. She is a student of astrology in the Nightlight School of Astrology, and has studied various spiritual healing techniques over the last decade. She has also practiced in the Southern Italian healing dance and drumming tradition of the Tarantella with her teacher Alessandra Belloni since 2002.
